"Future El Paso Voter Day" Encourages Family Participation at the Polls
Jueves, 17 de Octubre del 2024

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Elections Department is excited to announce “Future El Paso Voter Day,” an initiative aimed at fostering civic duty and participation among the next generation of voters. This event aims to instill the importance of civic engagement at a young age and to inspire lifelong habits of participation in our democracy.

Parents are invited to bring their children along as they cast their vote at one of five participating Early Voting Locations on Saturday, October 26th from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Participating Early Voting Locations:
- Bassett Place, 6101 Gateway Blvd W. 79925
- City of San Elizario Municipal Court, 12004 Socorro Rd. 79849
- Dorris Van Doren Library, 551 Redd Rd. 79912
- Marty Robbins Recreation Center, 11620 Vista Del Sol Dr. 79936
- Nations Tobin Sports Center, 8831 Railroad Dr. 79904

“Research shows one of the strongest influences on a person’s voting habits is their parents. If a child’s parents vote, they are more likely to also vote,” said Lisa Wise, El Paso County Elections Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to engage their children in discussions about the voting process, significance of making informed choices and to show them how important and easy it is to vote! Let’s celebrate democracy and empower our children with the knowledge and experience they need to become active voters once eligible to register to vote.

Additionally, children will receive a fun election pack at all five participating locations while supplies last. All thirty-three Early Voting Locations will be providing children with a fun “Future Voter” sticker.
